Dexter Breed
Dexter cattle are a small, hardy, dual-purpose heritage breed from Ireland, known for being gentle, efficient, and adaptable, making them ideal for small farms and homesteads. They are valued for both their rich milk and lean, flavorful beef, and come in black, red, or dun colors. Their compact size requires less pasture and feed, and they are known for strong maternal instincts and easy handling.

The Meat
Dexter beef is highly prized by gourmet chefs and homesteaders alike for its exceptional quality, rich flavor, and high feed-to-meat conversion efficiency. Despite the animal's compact size, it yields premium, tender beef that rivals or surpasses larger commercial breeds.
Dexter beef yields a healthier nutrient profile. When grass-finished, Dexter beef is lean yet rich in beneficial Omega-3 fatty acids, Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA), and essential vitamins like Vitamin E.
