Aloe Vera Calendula Creams

Aloe vera and calendula are powerhouse botanicals that deeply hydrate, calm redness, and accelerate skin barrier repair.  We've taken it a bit further by adding coconut and jojoba oils.

Aloe Vera

Key Effects on the Skin

  • Deeply hydrates: Composed of 95% to 99% water to bind moisture without leaving a greasy residue.

  • Calms inflammation: Uses plant hormones and salicylic acid to suppress inflammatory pathways, relieving sunburns and eczema.

  • Accelerates healing: Stimulates fibroblast cells to boost collagen and elastin production, repairing cuts and minor burns faster.

  • Fights acne: Delivers antibacterial properties that clear acne-causing bacteria and unclog clogged pores.

  • Combats aging: Packs potent antioxidants like vitamins C and E to neutralize free radical damage and preserve skin elasticity.

Calendula

Key Effects on the Skin

  • Calms cellular inflammation: Flavonoids like faradiol actively inhibit pro-inflammatory pathways (such as COX-2), rapidly lowering redness, swelling, and dermatitis pain.

  • Speeds wound healing: Triterpenoids stimulate rapid cell turnover and boost collagen production to close up scrapes, minor burns, and blemishes.

  • Neutralizes oxidative stress: Packs a multi-layered shield of carotenoids that destroy free radicals triggered by pollution and UV light, helping to prevent premature skin aging.

  • Suppresses surface pathogens: Delivers gentle antibacterial and antiseptic properties that counter common skin bacteria, making it highly effective for acne-prone skin and diaper rashes.

  • Strengthens the skin barrier: Natural emollients and essential fatty acids trap essential moisture, eliminating dryness while shielding the vital lipid layer.

Coconut Oil

Key Effects on the Skin

  • Locks in moisture: Composed heavily of saturated fats, it sits on top of the skin to dramatically reduce transepidermal water loss and soften rough texture.

  • Repairs the skin barrier: Delivers essential lipids that fill in structural gaps, helping to soothe dry conditions like atopic dermatitis and eczema.

  • Suppresses surface bacteria: Packs a high concentration of lauric acid, which the skin converts into monolaurin to break down the cellular walls of harmful bacteria like Staphylococcus aureus.

Jojoba Oil

Key Effects on the Skin

  • Regulates oil production: Tricks the skin into sensing it has sufficient moisture, signaling the sebaceous glands to slow down excess sebum production.

  • Keeps pores clear: Ranks incredibly low on the comedogenic scale. It can penetrate hair follicles to help dissolve hard sebum plugs, actively preventing blackheads.

  • Rejuvenates the matrix: Stimulates the synthesis of type III collagen and hyaluronic acid to increase overall skin elasticity and diminish fine lines.

  • Eases chronic irritation: Lowers local inflammation by suppressing pro-inflammatory cytokines, calming conditions like eczema, psoriasis, and mild sunburns.

  • Speeds tissue repair: Accelerates wound healing by promoting cellular migration and reconstructing the skin's extracellular matrix after injury.
